RNLI Coffee Morning Singers . . .
Well done to our wonderful KS1 singers who attended the RNLI Coffee Morning to support the fundraising efforts of the Garforth Lifeboat Branch. The RNLI support Haigh Road School in the Summer term and we were delighted to be invited to sing at the Christmas Fair.

Reception and Key Stage One pupils enjoyed an informative assembly led by Claire from the 'Canal and River Trust'. Claire shared important safety messages about staying safe near canals and rivers.

Gas Works Assembly
Thank you to Northern Gas Network - Katherine and Gemma. In assembly they talked about the gas works along Haigh Road and how important it is to stay safe around the roadworks.
Northern Gas brought some resources for our Summer 'Green Fingers Gardening Club' - thank you!
Well done to our Year 2 'Reading Champions'!
During the Summer term Haigh Road School was proud to present Year 2 Reading Champions. The selected Reading Champions helped to promote the 'Summer Reading Challenge' at school and encouraged Summer Library visits.
Our wonderful champions have now left school and we have appointed new champions.
Our Reading Champions recently visited Rothwell Library as part of 'Take-Over Day', displaying book reviews completed at school.

'Haigh Road's Got Talent!'
Our annual talent show held on Friday 22nd July was a huge success! Twelve amazing acts from Reception and Key Stage One worked with determination and confidence to be crowned 'HRGT Winner 2016'. The judges had a difficult job as they watched, commented and finally chose the winning act.

Our Wildlife Area!
Miss Aston set the nighttime camera in the wildlife area. Look closely on the right hand side of the film ... you will spot 'Ned' the hedgehog having a midnight feast!

'Prayer Space' at Haigh Road was a quiet place to think and reflect. These photographs show some of the lovely activities we took part in with our friends and grown ups.
We enjoyed a really big well done in our celebration assembly from the 'British Heart Foundation'. Over £1,000 was raised on 'WEAR IT BEAT IT!' day.
Bees took residence in our bird box!
